Happy Teacher's Day(2)

Happy Teacher's Day!

I baked this cake for the Teacher's Day dinner given by Mr & Mrs Phang Shoi Chan to his retired colleagues of SMK Canossian Convent Segamat. It's the Gold & White Chiffon Cake but I've made it Pink & White for Chinese Malaysians believe red/pink to be auspicious colours. The cake looks very brown in the picture but it actually is a creamy colour. So this Pink & White Cake has graced many happy occasions - Chinese New Year, birthdays, Mother's day and now Teacher's Day,
The dinner was sumptuous. There were King Pork Ribs,(Pai Kuat Wong), Towfoo with minced pork, Fish Head Curry, 3 cup chicken, (A Taiwanese dish) Butter Squids & Kale Sprouts.(The Cantonese name refuseds to load in my memory)

Happy Teacher's Day

Isn't this a lovely sight! A surprise Teacher's Day gift from Joel Lee and his mum. It's a pot of double petalled African Violets. Best of all this plant propagates from each single leaf. So far 4 leaves have been cut and 2 friends who like gardening have a leaf each and I have the other 2. So there will soon be 4 extra African Violet plants. On top of that I have promised to give 3 more students a leaf each when the leaves grow a little larger. So this pleasant surprise has brought cheer to many. Thanks Joel & Lan Fong.
That's the end of this post. Why, so short? I spent a frustrating time trying to upload pictures to the blog the ordinary way and couldn't. So this post is created via Picassa: Blog This! (I don't know how to upload more pictures to this post, so I shall continue writing in another post)

Happy Teacher's Day! (to any teacher reading this post)
